Hi Susan!

We are forming at TW communications team and I was wondering if you might be interested.  We'll be helping promote TW events, doing press releases, social networking, and making sure our marketing stuff is consistent and upbeat! If you would like to help in a small or large way- join us at the Public Market on May 25 at 6:30 pm.

Thanks

Kate

Hi Susan, Glad to meet you at Laurel potluck & welcome to the groups you're now connected with! Re your post on needing help planning an urban garden next to the E. Laurel St. housing development. There are lots of us here with community gardening experience that you could network with. You might try posting a new discussion with your specific needs & vision, and then cross posting to either the 'Organic Gardener's-Permaculturist' TW group, or 'Food Security' group. I've been one of the garden-design-team members with CLSR (Coaltion for Local Self Reliance at- http://www.caretakershouse.org/ -that is in process with the city planners for creating a garden at the old Rose Garden site in Fairhaven. You might consider making contact with some of the board members of CLSR who've worked closely with the city.. Also, Laura Platt has experience with grants & programs, along with Dee Anderson, and even myself. It makes sense that whomever is going to be actually using & maintaining the urban-housing-garden be part of the planning & visioning process, and to have a design team that works together. Also, there are some visionary Western students that might take on projects as an intern.
