I read the transition handbook and like many of the ideas. Not currently involved in any formal transition initiative (cause there isn't one locally yet!) but very keen to help form a solar/renewables collective here in my (urban) locality.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
I'm realising that just about everything I use and consume, along with all those around me, is produced entirely unsustainably. I'm gradually increasing my recycling & energy saving, and now use a variety of alternative renewable energy sources.
Do you have particular interests, skills, talents or resources you would like to bring to Transition Whatcom?
I've DIY installed evac tube solar water heating using inexpensive 12VDC powered differential controller and pumps - all off-grid capable. Also interested in developing a hybrid rocket-type water heater and would like to get into woodgas too. Happy to help/work with anyone like-minded.
In what neighborhood or part of the county do you reside?
Belfast (Ireland)
