In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
I am very interested in increasing my families and our community's self-sufficiency. I would like to encourage people in our community to understand the reasons why localization of our resources is important and why we should begin growing more food locally.
Do you have particular interests, skills, talents or resources you would like to bring to Transition Whatcom?
I have experience growing various vegetables and am now experimenting with grains. I have seven chickens, one is a rooster.
In what neighborhood or part of the county do you reside?
Where did you hear about Transition Whatcom and how did you find our community network website?
I was searching the web for information on growing grains and I found a blog on your website.

All of what you are doing here is exactly what I have been working on since I was laid off from a 2 yr. teaching position. I have been inspired by Ben Hewitt's "The Town that Food Saved", "Eating Fossil Fuels", "Food, Not Lawns" and similar books.
