We have been to some movies at the Pickford and have planted an urban garden. We ride our bikes and we compost and recycle. We shop locally if we can, and we try to purchase items made as close to Bellingham as possible. We are finding that it's difficult to do. Nothing major, just small things.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
We are interested in uniting with local people to network and discuss ideas for creating a smooth transition. I am personally interested in becoming self-sufficient or at least locally reliant on food and products.
Do you have particular interests, skills, talents or resources you would like to bring to Transition Whatcom?
We are active, intelligent and strong. I have some skills in gardening, although all gardeners know there is always more to learn. My husband is resourceful and hard working and can wield a hammer. We both enjoy cooking.More curious and eager than anything.
In what neighborhood or part of the county do you reside?
Lettered Streets
Where did you hear about Transition Whatcom and how did you find our community network website?
I first heard about TW when I saw The Collapse at the Pickford. I knew there was a movement, but I didn't know the details.
