Welcome!  So good to learn of someone who's familiar with the 'Ringing Cedar' teachings.  I first learn about it around 2008, but have not found a local community or study group in the area.   I've been a student of the earth, and of permaculture for many years.
I thought you might be interested in being part of an email list that many of us use to share our events & news (pass on your email to me if so),

Or you might you enjoy the Earth Gardens network located at:   http://transitionwhatcom.ning.com/group/organic  (click 'join' if so).

There is a great group of resilant folks moving deeper into homesteading out in your Goshen area.  When you meet them in person, you can share email/phone to connect up with them.  They also have a Transition Goshen group on this site at:

I'm part of a group creating an annual seed-swap, on Jan 30th, and all are welcome.  Event info at: http://transitionwhatcom.ning.com/events/bellingham-community-seedswap

One of the closest community buildings to where we both live might be the Rome Grange.  I've posted info on their monthly breakfasts, which is a good way to meet with rural neighbors & enjoy a meal.  Info details here:  http://transitionwhatcom.ning.com/events/community-breakfast-at-rome

I'm especially interested in mushroom & herbal medicinals and can always use a  hand in my garden.
