Students for Sustainable Foods. We are a school-sponsored club at WWU aiming to provide sustainable food options to Western's campus community. In the mean time, we encourage people to think about what they eat, and teach them the benefits of sustainable choices.
We worked with Transition Whatcom for 350.org in Fall of 2009 by planting fruit trees at Squalicum High School and in a neighborhood garden near to Western's campus.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
I am interested in finding ways to live more sustainably because, by definition, I want to build a lifestyle that will work for the long-run. I understand that we human beings are sucking the earth's resources dry and causing massive environmental issues with our over-the-top consumption. I want to learn more responsible ways of living and teach them to others. Sustainable living also interests me because it feels good! Which makes sense since it includes eating fresher, tastier food, being more active, and thinking about where everything we use comes from.
In what neighborhood or part of the county do you reside?
North Forest (South Hill?)
Where did you hear about Transition Whatcom and how did you find our community network website?
Students for Sustainable Foods; looked it up on Google

I want to learn new ways to live sustainably and collaborate with other interested people to innovate new approaches to sustainable living.
