How are you currently involved in the Transition?

I am currently involved in local community efforts in Wellington, New Zealand to begin shifting to self-sufficiency and away from mass production through the growing of organic food, permaculture crops, reclaiming and detoxifying public land

In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?

I support its principles of participatory democracy, substantive equality, sustainability, and self-sufficiency and its aim of preparation in order to mitigate and address the effects of the ecological crises and our political-economic system of global industrial capitalist modernity.

Do you have particular interests, skills, talents or resources you would like to bring to Transition Whatcom?

I am a Lecturer in Accounting whose research interests are around, first of all, the critical analysis of accounting and business practices that exposes their problematic social and environmental effects, and secondly, around exploring alternative approaches to accounting that could support organizational and collective transitions to more sustainable forms of development

In what neighborhood or part of the county do you reside?

Where did you hear about Transition Whatcom and how did you find our community network website?

Through members of the environmental movement here in New Zealand
