Profile Information

How are you currently involved in the Transition?
Currently I am not involved in the transition but as someone who has lived here for five years, I finally feel like Bellingham has become my home. Since I am no longer a student I do not feel like this is transient and as an adult I would love to be active and involved in the community I consider my own.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
I enjoy the idea of resilience and self-sustainability, and that's one aspect of Bellingham I have always enjoyed commercially through things such as accessibility to eating local food when dining out. However I would like to apply this skill more to my own life and would love connecting and being able to do so with like minded people.
Do you have particular interests, skills, talents or resources you would like to bring to Transition Whatcom?
I have a great interest in actively working with others in hopes of creating a tool library, I have watched one in my old Seattle neighborhood grow and flourish and I think it could be super successful and beneficial here.

I'm not positive if this counts as a skill but I am talented in knit and crochet, especially knitting which I have been doing since the age of 8 consistently through now. I would love to find a way to teach or apply that skill to others.
In what neighborhood or part of the county do you reside?
Lakeway/right past york by the civics complex.
Where did you hear about Transition Whatcom and how did you find our community network website?
I had been looking for some kind of tool library thinking that if any community seems like the kind of place to have one it might be Whatcom. After finding nothing, I thought about taking steps to start one on my own and after a little more research found like-minded people on the transition site I hope to align myself with.

After looking for a tool library and finding none I thought about starting my own and found like minded people on this site, also would after living here as a worker rather than a student I no longer feel like this place is transient for me and would like to join the community in the place I know consider my home.
