In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
We purchased 10 acres in Ferndale a few years ago, and are trying now to become sustainable. We put an orchard in, and we have 24 chickens, whose organic eggs we are trying to sell. Now is the time to put in our big vegetable garden again.
Do you have particular interests, skills, talents or resources you would like to bring to Transition Whatcom?

Work is in counseling, esp. with children and families. Also passionate about gardening, farming, animals, chickens...

We had a big increase in Transition Ferndale members at the Great Unleashing. If you want to keep up with our progress and activities, join the group "Transition Ferndale". Hope all is going well. Judith
Martha, we are getting together on 2nd and 4th Tuesday evenings. On Apr 13 we will be meeting at a member's home and on Apr 27 we have a potluck/movie night at the Ferndale WECU. They haven't been listed as events yet, but I wanted to let you know the dates. And, of course, you have been receiving info on the Great Unleashing this weekend. I went to a planning session and was astonished by all the speakers and activities that are planned. Sunday afternoon will be open space conversions where we start to plan for our future.
My husband David and I live off North Star Road west of Ferndale. We are building a passive solar home and are finally getting close to moving in. You can find out more about us on our pages. Members of Transition Ferndale are spread out on both sides of the highway. Where do you live? Two of the members have chickens and I think they are members of the group called The Flock. We'll all look forward to meeting you. Judith
Hi, Martha, Welcome! I just want to let you know we have a small Transition Ferndale Group. You can find us at the Groups tab at the top of the page. We have two events coming up that you can find at the Events tab. On Mar 17 we're meeting at Alys' house to start talking about how we can support each other. On Mar 22 we have a movie/potluck night at the Ferndale WECU. You can get the details on the Events page. We'd lovel to meet you either time. Judith Culver
