I am involved with Transition Western, the club made on WWU campus! I am also involved with the Capoeira Club on campus. Capoeira is a martial art, dance form that, as I see it, is a "green" activity. It is very community involved. You get a good work out, learn the history and the beautiful power behind the movement. You also learn Portuguese!
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
I feel building closer relationships with the people living around you grows a sense of community. As our future and present is being impacted and will continue to be impacted by the effects of global warming our everyday "normal" way of life NEEDS to change. Transition is a great movement that has come a long way and has the right foundation for a different future we can all adjust to.
Do you have particular interests, skills, talents or resources you would like to bring to Transition Whatcom?
I enjoy working with children! I love the woods! I'm going to school for Terrestrial Ecology so I'm learning the energy cycle, nutrient cycling and carbon cycling among other things!
In what neighborhood or part of the county do you reside?
I live up in the Ridgemont area on Samish Way
Where did you hear about Transition Whatcom and how did you find our community network website?
I heard about this through the club and got an email after I signed a paper to be a part of it!

I would like to join to be a part of the trading system or "mini Craigslist". I would much rather trade and reuse than go buy something new and uneccesary.
