I am the Events Coordinator/Facilitator of Anything Grows, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to develop an oppositional culture to industrial civilization. This is accomplished through music, food, community action, lectures, presentations, and other social events which intend to provide the physical and discursive space for engendering social change. We are based at The Old Foundry, downtown Bellingham, 100 E. Maples st.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
It is extremely important that we begin making intentional steps towards a sustainable future so that the collapse of industrial civilization can be as smooth as possible. We need a vast network of resources, information, knowledge, and support to create a bright and beautiful future.
Do you have particular interests, skills, talents or resources you would like to bring to Transition Whatcom?
Our building, The Old Foundry, as described above, is always available. We are building and solidifying our mission statement as well as developing our strategy and resources, thus we have much to bring to this group. We are best at holding community action events addressing issues which are a cause of industrial civilization.
In what neighborhood or part of the county do you reside?
Where did you hear about Transition Whatcom and how did you find our community network website?
All over town. I looked it up on google.
Please note that you do not have to answer all of the above questions in order to join, and you can always come back later to edit your profile. If it's all too many questions for now, please provide a short answer below on why you'd like to join this site (or a summary of the above, if answered).
I am devoted to developing an oppositional culture to industrial civilization.
