Profile Information

How are you currently involved in the Transition?
Mainly by aligning my actions with the philosophy of it;
bicycling, gardening, community, etc.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
The alternative, holistic lifestyle more in tune with the Natural world, which has been percieved as a fringe element by some, very much needs to become more mainstream. Also, the vulnerability and lack of resiliency of our culture is of great concern. So a return to a closer
community or civil society may be useful too. Which means that I would like to see myself live more in alignment with these principles.
Do you have particular interests, skills, talents or resources you would like to bring to Transition Whatcom?
I am an architect by trade. I am interested in natural
building, solar, wind, permaculture, etc. Although I have not participated in actual applications of these areas.
In what neighborhood or part of the county do you reside?
Presently I am a rolling stone. I was in the Columbia and Lettered Streets neighborhoods.
Where did you hear about Transition Whatcom and how did you find our community network website?
I was informed of the Transition movement by an article in a permaculture mag. Read Hopkin's book (which I checked out of the library) and learned of the Transition Whatcom website from a friend in Bellingham.

Welcome Jon! Good to see that some people are reading the Transition Handbook by Hopkins.
