I just discovered you when I went searching for free chips for my garden
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
I am interested in growing vegetables in my yard using local resources for mulching, saving seeds from things I buy to eat from stores, using cardboard for weed control. I have built a 6'diam raised garden that has a wire mess tube in the center for dumping grass clippings, leaves, food scrapes and water. It is made of used corrugated plastic panels, lined with cardboard and filled mostly with leaves, grass clippings prunings from my bushes, old telephone books and newspaper. When it is almost full I will add 3" of soil and start planting things I can eat.
Do you have particular interests, skills, talents or resources you would like to bring to Transition Whatcom?
I am interested in gardening, upcycling, building furniture from stuff I find at the ReStore. I know how to cast and build small replacement gingerbread parts and other small architectural elements that are no longer available.
In what neighborhood or part of the county do you reside?
Fairhaven
