In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
Within my own family we practice food self reliance in the form of growing produce in a small urban garden. We are also commited to alternative transportaion and living simply. I would however like to extend these lifestyle choices into the community and I see Transition Whatcom, with its commitment to "Inspire and support communities and neighborhoods" as a vehicle to change the way we eat, consume and live.
Do you have particular interests, skills, talents or resources you would like to bring to Transition Whatcom?
I am interested in urban gardening and food barter/trade groups within neighborhoods. I am a chef and event florist/planner and would love to be part of organizing neighborhoods to talk regularly with their neighbors about what they are growing/raising in their yards and how they can support their neighborhood by sharing, teaching or helping grow more.
In what neighborhood or part of the county do you reside?
Where did you hear about Transition Whatcom and how did you find our community network website?
Visited Inspiration Farm and spoke with Brian.
