I just moved to Bellingham 2 weeks ago. I have joined the co-op, and have committed to patronizing local businesses (and the farmers market) as much as possible to help energize the local economy.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
Like many others, I have seen the empty, soulless places that have supplanted once-vibrant communities across the United States. I want to be part of a movement that values community over corporate profit, and which is thinking ahead to the quality of life for future generations.
Do you have particular interests, skills, talents or resources you would like to bring to Transition Whatcom?
Actually I am hoping to learn some practical skills such as organic gardening, chicken-keeping, etc. and am excited about the faire in September. I do have an extensive writing background and could help with writing articles and producing written materials.
In what neighborhood or part of the county do you reside?
I live on Marine Drive *just* outside the city limits
