I currently reside in Mission,B.C., though spend much time in Bellingham. At present I am working on a documentary film festival for this month that brings awareness to social, global, and environmental issues. The idea is to involve as many community groups as possible and bring people together to look realistically at our future and to work together to make positive changes. Our local Transition Town will be represented at the film fest.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
I believe we must all take responsibility for our day to day actions to the best of our ability. Civiliation was never situated to be sustainable, and it is up to those of us who can understand what it takes for sustainable living to try to bring it about. We owe it to the earth, to those who must live in the future conditions that have been created over many years of negligent lifestyles. While I don't have a lot of hope, I also don't believe in giving up so long as I can still breath the air.
Do you have particular interests, skills, talents or resources you would like to bring to Transition Whatcom?
Just enthusiasm, determination and a deep love of the natural and wild world. Working towards developing more useful skills...
In what neighborhood or part of the county do you reside?
Currently residing in Canada. Looking to move to Bellingham.

Hey Elena- Sorry we didn't get to talk much the other day- I was about out of steam! I met with the Pickford manager today and we are talking about ideas for a TW Film Week. He would like to show Collapse at the theater for the first night, possibly. He said he knows it sounds like a downer but he saw the film at Toronto and said it was excellent, and more motivating than depressing.
Hi Elena! Good to connect during our 'Walking the Walk' gathering!
I hope you can attend the two seed & biodiversity related events that are being planned on Jan 16th & the Jan 31st winter seed-swap!
Were you the person who also was working on a report & presentation on permaculture & transition initiatives?
