Working on sustainable land use policies, urban revitalization issues, and local sustainable agricultural planning (how the urban areas can support the ag economy).
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
We need to come together in a coordinated manner to create the kind of change necessary to either 1) save this planet or 2) be prepared to survive as a community if we don't. I'd like to learn more about how Transition Whatcom is working on this.
Do you have particular interests, skills, talents or resources you would like to bring to Transition Whatcom?
Project management, land use law/policy development, multi-modal transportation, urban design/revitalization, public process/community input.
In what neighborhood or part of the county do you reside?
Lettered Streets
Where did you hear about Transition Whatcom and how did you find our community network website?
I have several good friends who are involved in TW, as well as some professional colleagues.
Please note that you do not have to answer all of the above questions in order to join, and you can always come back later to edit your profile. If it's all too many questions for now, please provide a short answer below on why you'd like to join this site (or a summary of the above, if answered).
I'd like to learn more and become more active in the community outside of my job!

Hey Darby- Welcome. I love your name- very unusual! Sounds like you are a great addition to Transition, with some valuable skills. You may want to check out the Transportation workgroup, and I think there is a Working with Local Government group that is focused on supporting land use and urban development that is consistent with a post-carbon future. I am involved in food security and communications. Hope to see you at one of the TW events!

Hi Darby! Welcome - Great to see you here! You might want to check out the groups tab - lots of different activities. Also, if you do a search in the members tab for 'lettered streets' you can find neighbors who are also interested in transitioning. You may find enough of your neighbors here to initiate a 'Transition Lettered Streets'.
