I work as a sales and outreach coordinator for Bellingham's new solar panel manufacturer Itek Energy. On a personal level I bike commute and support local farmers on a regular basis.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
My belief is that this particular shift to a more sustainable society is vital. Also I think that to make a movement like this viable you need as many people on the same page as possible. By joining and working with groups such as the Transition movement it is helping to network and connect people who might have parts to the whole solution that others might not.
Do you have particular interests, skills, talents or resources you would like to bring to Transition Whatcom?
My interests lie in homesteading skills which mainly deal with the idea of being self sustainable and knowing where what I eat and drink come from. Plus making beer is a whole lot of fun. On top of that I am trained and am willing to install micro hydro, wind and specifically solar. Energy is kinda of my thing.
In what neighborhood or part of the county do you reside?
I live in Bellingham where I work.
Where did you hear about Transition Whatcom and how did you find our community network website?
My coworker sent me a link to the cheers and beers event happening tomorrow. After that I simply looked up in google the website.
