I am new to transition whatcom so I am looking forward to joining the initiative and making a difference.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
Throughout college I studied energy systems and became interested in renewable energy. During this period I met my current fiance and we talked a lot about the impacts that fossil fuels have on the environment and the dependacies society has on them. I have the expectations of trying to limit my footprint as much as possible. After graduating we moved to the Bellingham area, about a year ago, and have seen the importance of a local community. With all the econnomic struggles in the past few years I believe that it is important to keep your local community strong by investing in it with the rewarding benefit of helping the people around you and making great new friends.
Do you have particular interests, skills, talents or resources you would like to bring to Transition Whatcom?
I am very interested in renewal energy and I have a mechanical engineering degree in energy systems so can help in design for new systems.
I also like building things and working outside.
In what neighborhood or part of the county do you reside?
Lettered Streets, Bellingham
