Profile Information

How are you currently involved in the Transition?
Gardening and helping get people interested in having their own gardens and willing to help them do that. Helped organize Map You Neighborhood on the street I live and give support to growing it out to the rest of the neighborhood.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
It is so important that all of us take an interest in what's happening everywhere with climate change and economic problems and act locally to do what we can to sustain ourselves economically and learn to, as much as possible, not be part of the problem. I would like to be part of making that happen here in What. county and be part of the rise of people taking responsibility for what can be done, finding solutions together, and stop waiting for things to happen through government.
Do you have particular interests, skills, talents or resources you would like to bring to Transition Whatcom?
Love of growing food. Healthy lifestyle choices, i.e.: diet, meditation, exercise (you can exercise and get where you need to go at the same time!). Volunteerism.
In what neighborhood or part of the county do you reside?
Fairhaven
Please note that you do not have to answer all of the above questions in order to join, and you can always come back later to edit your profile. If it's all too many questions for now, please provide a short answer below on why you'd like to join this site (or a summary of the above, if answered).
I want to stay abreast of what's happening with Transition Whatcom and be involved where ever and when ever possible.

Hi Carolyn! Welcome to our local transition ning-site! Great to hear how your neighborhood has done some mapping! I'm also a gardener and love to bring people back-into-the-garden!
