How are you currently involved in the Transition?

I am new to Transition Whatcom and am learning about this organization and all of the related groups working towards a sustainable future for Whatcom county.

In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?

I have long been aware of the many dysfunctions in our modern society. Now I have begun to see how the environment, economy and government are intertwined and mutually influenced forces that have led us to this unhappy and unhealthy way of living. I want to be part of the movement to change this system and grow a healthy alternative for community interactions.

Do you have particular interests, skills, talents or resources you would like to bring to Transition Whatcom?

My education and experience is in theater, fine arts and education. As a former founder and director of a nonprofit theater school, I have experience in many areas such as marketing, graphics for advertising, developing and organizing events for community outreach as well as teaching both youth and adults. My theater training and practice has also given me an extensive background in set and costume design and construction. From this love of design, I am interested in sustainable designs for living, especially for clothing and interior design.

In what neighborhood or part of the county do you reside?

I live on the cusp of Allabam Hill and Silverbeach.

Where did you hear about Transition Whatcom and how did you find our community network website?

I heard about you from ReSources and at the BALLE conference this year.
