I work for Whatcom Community College as the Worker Retraining Coordinator. I assist individuals who are out of work to retrain for new careers. This is a community/economic development effort. I believe in meaningful employment and lifelong education to strengthen individuals and our community. I imagine that I can be of service to the movement at some level.

Welcome Brian. It is interesting to learn what you do at Whatcom. I work at WWU with consulting engineers/architects and building contractors, constructing new and renovating old buildings. I'd be interested in developing job shadow arrangements with your students if you think that is something that would work in your program. I am also friends with Beth Tyne who works at WCC.
Welcome Brian! I think the community and technical colleges are going to be very busy in the next few years, as the old university type careers become less common, and young people (and not so young!) start learning some different skills. You may have a very solid career yourself! Hope to see you at the Unleashing- let us know if you are available to volunteer a hour or two that day.
