Fairly active with Sustainable Connections and currently a member of the Greenways advisory committee. I try to stay involved in local uprisings, but I've spent a lot of time the last couple of years clubbing my painfully inefficient house into submission.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
I've never been handy with guns, so I'd like to find other ways to arm myself for the excitement of Peak Oil and withering system collapse. Basically I'm just sniffing the waters here and seeing if I can learn something or network with like-minded folk.
Do you have particular interests, skills, talents or resources you would like to bring to Transition Whatcom?
I've been a construction ape and supervisor for years. Lately, due to the economy tanking, I went back to Huxley to study sustainable design. My recent fixation orbits steadily around green roofs and I likely am one of the better sources of information on that topic. I'm currently studying for the LEED exams with the goal of becoming certified by this time next year.
In what neighborhood or part of the county do you reside?
Where did you hear about Transition Whatcom and how did you find our community network website?
Tansition Whatcom was whispered to me in a dark alley on a cold and rainy night.

Looks like a cop, smells like a hippie, and has trouble playing nice.

I put together my coop in July so perhaps that was a request.....I was looking for builders to help me build it. Glad you connected in.... I looked at your site and live roofs are AMAZING... I am studying to build with cob and other low key materials, I would LOVE to have a live roof as well. I will hopefully meet you before that time and we can talk roofs, or whatever suits us at the time! Nice to meet you! check out my site here on FB and so you get an idea what I look like and introduce yourself if you see me out and about! Cheers, Jamie
