The importance of music

I have attached a file from a friend (thanks, Merry) that helped me understand the incredible value that music and the arts are to not only our ability to thrive but to our very survival. Here is a tidbit of the attached article: "If there is a future of peace for humankind, if there is to be an understanding of how these internal, invisible things fit together, I expect it will come from the artists, because that's what we do. As in the concentration camp and the evening of 9/11, the artists are the ones who might be able to help us with our invisible, internal lives."
