Event Description

John Bower, Associate Professor at Fairhaven College, will present on the plight of marine birds. John has documented changes in marine bird abundance in Puget Sound, publishing his findings in 2009. The talk will address Sound-wide changes, as well as concerns specific to Whatcom County, including displacement of the Caspian tern colony and the role of Cherry Point in bird abundance.

John's interests include animal behavior, animal communication,
evolution,  ornithology, and marine bird ecology. This talk is sponsored by RE Sources North Sound Baykeeper Team, and co-sponsored by the Whatcom County Marine Resources Committee and Whatcom Watersheds Information Network.
