Event Description

Dr. Steve Jones, the director of the WSU Mt. Vernon research station and an expert wheat breeder, will give a second talk describing his group’s work to produce successful local grain varieties for Whatcom farmers. Among the topics will be the steps involved in small scale grain growing including planting techniques, harvesting, milling and what cooperative arrangements might make it feasible for Whatcom County as well as the progress since last year.
Light refreshments will be served.
