The Non-Compete clauses are FINALLY gone!
The Non-Compete clauses are FINALLY gone!
On Tuesday June 25, the Washington State Attorney General's office announced that the non-compete clauses that Albertsons left in it's wake were finally gone. This is a tremendous victory for the Birchwood community that makes it possible for another grocer to finally move back into the neighborhood. Join us on Friday July 19 at 6:30 pm at Birchwood Park to celebrate and discuss next steps for bringing affordable, accessible, culturally appropriate groceries back into the neighborhood. Fresh fruit and desserts will be served!
To help keep everyone safer during this COVID surge and make this event accessible to the whole community, masks will be required when not eating/drinking. The park has a paved path to the picnic shelter and flat grassy areas around it. There is a wheelchair accessible port-a-potty on site. We can't wait to see you there!
