Whatcom County is growing. Do you want to see that growth occur in cities where we already have the resources to support growth? Do you want to protect our open spaces, working farms, resource lands and environmentally sensitive areas from that growth?  

The Whatcom County Planning Commission will be taking public comment about population and growth In Whatcom County next Thursday as part of the Whatcom County Comprehensive Plan update. 

Have your voice heard! Attend the meeting!

The Comprehensive Plan is a 20-year vision and roadmap for Whatcom County's future that sets the framework for the physical, social and economic development of Whatcom County. It anticipates change and provides guidance for decision-makers. Specifically, the comprehensive plan lays out the City's plans for:

• Transportation
• Land Use
• Capital Facilities
• Housing
• Parks, Recreation and Open space
• Environment
• Community Design
• Economic Development

The planning commission will be meeting once a month to discuss each of the chapters in the comprehensive plan. Make sure you stay involved so that you can give your input on each of these important topics.
