The DIRT on COMPOSTING
WSU Whatcom County Extension offers mini Compost Classes at Bellingham Community Garden
Location and time—this is the first of a series of compost workshops held at Community gardens
July 6th 5- 6pm. Join us at Faith Lutheran Community Garden (McLeod & Northwest Ave.) for a FREE garden talk and demonstration on composting techniques. Learn how to choose the right, how to manage your compost and more.
For this workshop WSU Master Gardeners and Master Composters have teamed up with the Faith Lutheran Community garden, the latest recipient of a WSU Whatcom Extension Community First Project Grant. WSU will partner with community garden spaces throughout the growing season to teach, learn and share ideas.
Composting is good for your yard and garden, good for the environment, easy to do and fun! Compost contributes nutrients and beneficial life to soils.
Adding compost to your soils can quadruple the soil’s ability to hold water which is an important component of gardening.
Compost, because a rind is a terrible thing to waste!
This event is free and open to the public
