Permaculturist, Paul Wheaton, will be visiting Inspiration Farm to offer a workshop in hugelkultur ("hugle-culture"). This is a technique for composting scrap wood and yard waste and planting a garden on top of it--this makes for raised beds loaded with organic material, nutrients, air pockets for the roots of what you plant, and retaining water. As the years pass, the deep soil of your bed becomes incredibly rich and loaded with soil life. $10-$20 sliding fee. Carpooling or biking highly recommended (veggie prizes for people who bike!)
