There was so much energy that we agreed to follow up on Monday, July 1st, at RE Sources' SLC, 2309 Meridian Street, above the RE Store in Bellingham, and continue our work.
Since the last meeting, there've been a number of important developments. The Port and City are moving the current iteration of the plan much more quickly than reasonably expected, and it still does not incorporate the community's interest. After receiving a virtual rubber stamp from the Planning Commission, the City Council is expected to take up the plan this summer.
The agenda will follow up on items for action from the last meeting and explore upcoming opportunities for involvement on the waterfront.
There will also be the opportunity for announcements from the group and initiating other projects related to the waterfront. Light refreshments as well as coffee and tea will be served at the meeting. Contact Matt Petryni at MattP@re-sources.org or call 733-8307 for more info.
