I am working with soils, soil quality, biological controls, both insects and the microbial world. Working with farmers and urban folk on issues pertaining to biodiversity, and farmscaping for resiliance. Main interests are compost and compost tea production, and helping growers. Also involved with the CLSR, the Center for Local Self Reliance on the design and gardens at the old Fairhaven Rose Gardens. Looking for people to help raise awareness of what community works we are doing with site plan development.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
It's great to see where people's interests lie, and talents surface, as we are all sharing this experience together!
As community, we at CLSR wish to support what your group is doing, and find ways to share the community space that we are creating with your talented network.
Do you have particular interests, skills, talents or resources you would like to bring to Transition Whatcom?
sharing ideas and networking practical solutions to problems
In what neighborhood or part of the county do you reside?

Hi Alison,
Thanks for the invite to the CLSR meeting this Thursday. That day is my sweetie's b-day though so I'll be hanging out with him! Hope to see ya all sometime soon!

Hey Hey there Alison! I've posted a call for volunteers on my gardeners email list and also here on the WT-ning site.
What else is needed? Did you find a commercial kitchen?...
Send your team an update note on what the needs are for upcoming auction.
Give me a call and we can talk in the here & now moment of being!
Hi Alison! I just tried to send you a copy of our seed-saving/community garden vision discussion on the whatcomtransition-ning site, but don't know how unless you can click on my transitionwhatcom friend request.
Soo...would you be my friend here too?
Or just send email if you have any questions on how to do.
Come on out to the garden soon...especially any hot days...we can swim, kayak, rest, jump in the lake & laugh out loud for the abundance in life!
Hi Alison! Wonderful to get a note from you. It stimulated some important thoughts about what I have to barter with - especially none food and plant items. I came up with rawhide rattles, my art collages and home design consultations. Need any such thing? I am sure I could pull something else up if needed. I could use some storable garlic, some tomatoes (want to learn to make ketchup for Rick - I am allergic) but not sure I will get to the pesto this year. I will consider it, though. How is the Center for Local Self Reliance doing?
