Event Description

Did you know that Bellingham was planning on building a new 14-acre park on the waterfront?

It's true -- the largest public park proposed for the Bellingham waterfront redevelopment's largest public park is located on 14 acres at the end of Cornwall Avenue that is intended to help support the needs of the public, wildlife and Bellingham Bay.

But there's one problem: the site is contaminated with toxic waste.
Baykeeper staff are offering a special opportunity to learn more about the proposed cleanup options and tips about writing effective public comments. Decision-makers must consider the public's opinion before finalizing this cleanup - your voice matters!

This event is co-sponsored by the Social & Environmental Justice Committee at BUF. Light refreshments, coffee and tea will be served. Sharpen your pencils and show up!

Even if you can't make the meeting, please take the time to review the plan and submit a comment to the Department of Ecology.
