SUMMARY:Cornwall Avenue Landfill Cleanup Workshop
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\nDid you know that Bellingham was planning on buildin
 g a new 14-acre park on the waterfront?  \n \nIt's true -- the larg
est public park proposed for the Bellingham waterfront redevelopment's
largest public park is located on 14 acres at the end of Cornwall Ave
nue that is intended to help support the needs of the public, wildlife
and Bellingham Bay.\nBut there's one problem: the site is contaminate
d with toxic waste.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBaykeeper staff are
offering a special opportunity to learn more about the proposed clean
up options and tips about writing effective public comments. Decision-
makers must consider the public's opinion before finalizing this clean
up - your voice matters!  \n\nThis event is co-sponsored by the Soci
al & Environmental Justice Committee at BUF. Light refreshments, coffe
e and tea will be served. Sharpen your pencils and show up!  \n\nEven
if you can't make the meeting, please take the time to review the pl
an and submit a comment to the Department of Ecology.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
