Transition Whatcom

Want a bunch of enthusiastic college students to come to your place and work on/start an edible garden for 90 minutes? We're delighted to do this in exchange for one thing: a home cooked meal that we can sit down and enjoy together after gardening!

Our club Transition WWU has been doing garden parties in the York neighborhood every Tuesday this quarter. We're looking to do more than one party a week and get into some different neighborhoods.

More of us are likely to show up if your place is close to (a short bike ride or bus) from campus (usually there are 7-10 of us) but please do reach out even if you live a longer ways away!

Andrew,

Sounds good to me. Perhaps you would get back to me and we can figure it out.

Regards,

Celt

I would be very interested in this! I have a fairly large yard in Fairhaven. I haven't been able to do as much gardening and I would like due to health issues. This would be incredibly helpful.

Please contact me.

Thanks!

Go Andrew!  Save the date Tuesday June 16th to attend the SB Roving Garden party at CLSR (Center for Self Reliance), located in Fairhaven at the parks old rose garden!  We have missed seeing you at our work parties, but are thrilled with the work your club & friends are doing now!

Thanks Heather! I have missed you all too! From the summer on out I'm going to change our regular day so we can also attend the Sustainable Bellingham parties!

The 16th is a Sunday.. not sure if I can make it then but I would love too!

Ooops - Tuesday June 18th, is Roving Garden party at CLSR, Center for Local Self-Reliance, at old park rose garden.  Info per Jean Kroll.  Event will soon be posted on faceboo & TW.

It also happens to be the day the county council meets and many folks will attend to encourage them to Not allow large slaughter houses on our farmland.

Andrew, Sustainable B'ham will eventually have event details/updates posted on their website, and be sure to sign up for their weekly emails http://www.sustainablebellingham.org/

Let us know how your other work parties go!  Sounds like you have some great gardeners requesting your help!

Paul and I are hoping to see you then!

Hi Andrew,

We would love to feed you all in exchange for gardening and your company. Paul will call you!

Wonderful! I'm in Seattle right now but should be back in time for the garden party on Tuesday.
