Mission Statement, Vision Statement and Objectives

A subcommittee was formed at 6/10/10 potluck to develop this group's Mission Statement, Vision Statement and Objectives. The following volunteers to be part of this committee, Travis, Rhys, Renata and Heather, post here is you want to join.

 

Mission Statement Proposal by Rhys:

 

 “to facilitate the development of sustainable communities and contribute to Transition Whatcom’s (TW) Energy Descent Action Plan (EDAP)."

Hi Everyone,

let's start the discussion going on the mission, vision and objectives. It would be great to have something tangible to present to the group at the June 24th meeting...

another idea for the wording: "to serve as a resource and support center for all interested in creation of intentional communtities in Whatcom County."

Heather's draft based on combining both Rhys and Renata's drafts:

The Community Living group's vision statement is:
To encourage the creation of sustainable communities within our bioregion & neighborhoods, to serve as a resouce hub for sharing information, and to form a committee that will contribute to an Energy Descent Action Plant (EDAP).

(I'd like to forward this to Cindi & Bruce who have attended most of the early meetings to request their feedback, and to remind us of what some of their early projects & missions were that fit under the broader vision statement)

I don't recall if I forwarded this to Cindy or Bruce for their input. I'll let you, Travis, Rhys decide who to forward to before the meeting...some folks may be more comfortable with an email sharing & brainstorming rather than these TW comments....I'll be back in neighborhood sometime next week...Most likely will miss meeting.
