Registration is now open for my spring class, "Successful Beekeeping in Whatcom County." We'll begin Tuesday evening, March 3rd, 6:30-8:30pm, 8 Tuesday evening classes altogether. Final class: April 21st. We'll meet at Chuckanut Center on Bellingham's south side.This course describes my own sustainable beekeeping methods, based on 21 years of using Langstroth hives to best advantage in Whatcom County's unique beekeeping conditions. How are you currently involved in the Transition?: In the Official Transition Movement, not. In my day to day personal and family transition, to the best of my ability and of necessity.

In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?: In no order: beekeeper, food gardener, canner, food dryer, bike commuter, wood heater, medicinal herb grower/user, gleaner, scavenger, winemaker, junk fixerupper, clock repairer, ex-glassblower, yaddayadda.
Paying attention to: JH Kunstler, JM Greer, Gail Tverberg, Sharon Astyk, CH Smith, Paul Chefurka, Dmitri Orlov et al and willing to discuss their issues and beyond.

Do you have particular interests, skills, talents or resources you would like to bring to Transition Whatcom?: Honeybee Survival Practices in Whatcom County and maybe some other stuff.

In what neighborhood or part of the county do you reside?: Fairhaven/Happy Valley
