Profile Information

How are you currently involved in the Transition?
I'm a new beekeeper, and I'm currently working on our worm bin and rain catchment systems. I've cut out packaging from my daily food preparation, and I'm looking to how best to make our home energy system sustainable.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
I invested heavily in the sustainability of my little household over the past two years, and I'm wanting to keep momentum in my personal journey while also being a resource for others. I believe that even though a sustainable life isn't available to everyone immediately, as long as we keep making small steps in that direction, we will change the way the wider culture caretakes the planet.
Do you have particular interests, skills, talents or resources you would like to bring to Transition Whatcom?
I'm particularly interested in vermicomposting and treatment-free beekeeping. I work in large data, data visualization, analysis, and reporting. Though data management usually doesn't crop up in sustainability efforts, I thought I'd still put that out there.
In what neighborhood or part of the county do you reside?
Noon Rd, between Kelly and Smith
Your Personal Website (if you have one)

Where did you hear about Transition Whatcom and how did you find our community network website?
I heard about Transition Whatcom from Dara Burrows, my stepmom. I live with her and my dad, and have been working on their property towards the goal of sustainability.
Please note that you do not have to answer all of the above questions in order to join, and you can always come back later to edit your profile. If it's all too many questions for now, please provide a short answer below on why you'd like to join this site (or a summary of the above, if answered).
I want to network with others on this journey, find support, trade ideas, and in general keep from reinventing the wheel.
