21 miles round trip to work & back!  What a great way to begin & end a day while these days are warmer!

I tried to get my electric bicycle started this Sunday to go on an audubon bird walk in the Squalicum Valley.   I could not get the bike to turn on....soo...I just rolled out my old touring Univaga Grand Rally bicycle I've toured on since the late 70's...and off we went!

Don used to bicycle to work every day except snow days from Y Road into urban zone before he became 're-inspired'.   I did most of my bicycle transporation & touring for 3 decades back when it was out-of-fashion. Now I'm living in an area where the roads don't have bike lanes and there are blind curves and steep hills .....I miss living in community where roads, buses, & hitchhiking are more accessable.....I can imagine that someday a solar/wind charged electric bus will be part of our public bus system that drives around the lake, helping to protect our drinking water, and re-establishing the public transportation that was cut back here years ago.

It was about 10 1/2 miles on the back country road scenic route we took. Uncle Joe accompanied me for fun and companionship. Alderwood to Marine Dr. to Wynne to Country Lane to Curtis Rd to Rural Ave to LaBounty to Hovander Rd.

The ride home included a stop at Tenant Lake to walk the boardwalk which is partially submerged in water right now.  What fun!

Hey David, thats a pretty far bike to work isn't it....B'ham to Ferndale!  Enjoy the beautiful weather when you bike from work back home!  The next two days are major fruit-vegi planting days on the Bio-Dynamic calendar.
