Event Description

If freezer space is limited or you need your meat canned for portability (road trip!), this class is for you! Join us for some hands-on experience using a pressure canner to preserve such delicious staples as homemade chicken stock and smoked salmon. Your locavore winters will never be the same again.

REGISTER THROUGH WHATCOM FOLK SCHOOL at www.whatcomfolkschool.org or 319-7495. $15 registration fee to WFS plus $20 class fee to instructor. Pay one registration fee to WFS and take as many classes in the series as you like.

Krista, I hope you have a great class with the canning fish & meat.

There is another class being offered at Rome Grange that matches my schedule better.

Yes, I agree, readership is low, especially compared to the amount of networking done on facebook. 

Most of our Skillshare event promotion/networking was done through a facebook event page.

Sometimes I'll post an event on TW ning page, and then copy that link over to Facebook.

Heather, I don't think anyone actually comes on this website anymore. It has been an extremely poor way of connecting with folks for the past six months or more. Have you noticed?

Anyone who is truely committed to eating more local http://transitionwhatcom.ning.com/events/event/listUserEvents?user=...   would benefit by any if Krista Romes weekly fall classes!  Learn how to store & prepare our local foods over the winter to last you through spring!  Reduce grocery store trips.  Nothing from a grocery store tastes better than home cooked squash, potatoes, apples, roots, cabbage, and home made fermented beverages that store without refrigeration!
