Locally-sourced cooking fat is something most locavores struggle with in their quest to eat locally. Home-rendered lard from local pastured pigs is not only easy to make but healthy! In this hands-on class you will render some lard and also try your hand at producing vegetable oils from locally-grown seeds with a small, inexpensive oil press.
Register through the Whatcom Folk School, or call me directly if last minute. Instructor fee is $20 or trade for pastured pork :)
