Event Description

Our second Monthly Roving Workparty moves into the County! Nooksack Salmon Enhancement Association is our partnering group this time and we'll be in Transition Goshen's neck o' the woods. We'll be planting native trees and shrubs at NSEA's Scott Creek location.

This site is located just off of Everson-Goshen Rd behind the Maple Ridge Community development. From Bellingham you can head north on Hannegan Rd or Meridian St towards Lynden. Turn right onto Pole Rd and follow as you wind your way through the county and then into Everson. Pole Rd turns into Everson-Goshen Rd just before you enter Everson. Parking is available at Everson Elementary School, located at 216 Everson-Goshen Rd. Follow the signs and check in at the blue NSEA tent.

NSEA supplies all the tools and gloves as well as some light refreshments, but wear layers and good boots. To carpool from Bellingham, email laurasellens@gmail.com

The vision for the roving workparty is to practice partnering with our neighborhood Transition Initiatives and other local groups, and to mobilize a swarm of ready workers for major Transition Whatcom projects in the future. Now accepting ideas for January's roving workparty, contact laurasellens@gmail.com. Thanks!

Thanks for posting these Laura!
There was a work party today at Lummi Nation!

On January 17th-Martin Luther King Jr Day of Service
– in the urban zone of B'ham at Whatcom Creek (10am -1pm) is another work party scheduled:

The Nooksack Salmon Enhancement Assocation does great work and these work parties are only offered a few months out of the year.

They also offer a program to plant a families living holiday tree in one of their restoration areas.
