Event Description

We will meet downtown and walk to the harvest area a couple of blocks away to collect invasive wild clematis vines and then adjourn to a warm location to learn the basics of two-hoop basket weaving such as in the picture. Other techniques for making a garden or houseplant trellis will be demonstrated. Every participant will receive enough prepared (previously dried and soaked) clematis to complete one basket or trellis. There will be a break for potluck snacks. Please bring weather-appropriate clothing, work gloves, one-handed garden snippers, and a snack to share. Fee is $30 or work trade by pre-arrangement. Enrollment is limited to eight with any children ten and younger accompanied by an adult helper per child.
