Event Description

The typical lifestyle in North America is both isolating and environmentally harmful. Cohousing addresses these problems by bringing people together to share resources as well as providing opportunities for enriching social interaction. In addition to an abundance of shared space, the cohousing model also offers privacy to its members, as each household is a private residence. Cohousing began in Denmark and made it's way to the U.S. in the early 90's. Bellingham Cohousing was the first development of this type in the area and was built in 2000.

Recently, there has been a surge of interest in cohousing as more people are looking for a community to be part of while at the same time living an eco-friendly lifestyle. To meet this demand, a new cohousing development in Happy Valley is in the works. If you're interested in learning more about the lifestyle and benefits of cohousing as well as opportunities to help found this new cohousing development, then don't miss this event!

Schedule:

  • Social Hour Meet & Greet @ 10am
  • Info Session: Cohousing Opportunities @ 11am
