Event Description
A fellow from Seattle Electric BIkes is coming to Bellingham (weather permitting!) to demonstrate the Bionx electric bicycle system. These folks were at our Great Unleasing, but I didn't have a chance to take a test ride then. So this will be a good opportunity for others like myself to find out more about these bikes - without driving to Seattle. Get a preview at http://www.seattleelectricbike.net/. The Bionx system was pretty impressive. You can feel it working a little when it's set on the highest of the assist levels, but otherwise there isn't much sensation. It just sort of flattens out the hills. Your pedaling effort remains fairly constant, almost the same as it would be on a slight grade. I think it will be a strong incentive to take the bike for errands by reducing the strain of getting back uphill and home.
