Next Thursday (April 18th) at 9am PT, sees a rather special Transition Network/Resilience.org team-up, with a webinar hosted by Rob Hopkins, and featuring Joanna Macy and Chris Johnstone.
If you have questions please put them as a comment here or tweet them to Rob Hopkins at @robintransition. What’ll we be discussing in our hour-long chat? Here’s how Joanna and Chris frame the conversation:
“Climate change, the depletion of oil, economic upheaval and mass extinction together create a planetary emergency of overwhelming proportions. Joanna and Chris’s book Active Hope is about how to strengthen our capacity to face this crisis so that we can respond with unexpected resilience and creative power. Drawing on decades of teaching an empowerment approach known as the Work That Reconnects, they guide us through a transformational process informed by mythic journeys, modern psychology, spirituality and holistic science. This process equips us with tools to face the mess we’re in and play our role in the collective transition, or Great Turning, to a life sustaining society”.
Joanna Macy and Chris Johnstone are the co-authors of Active Hope – How to Face the Mess We’re in Without Going Crazy. Joanna, a scholar of Buddhism, general systems theory, and deep ecology, is the author of twelve books on the interface between social change and spiritual breakthrough. Chris worked for many years as an addictions specialist, and now offers coaching and distance-learning courses about resilience, happiness and positive change.
Please join us, and do let Rob Hopkins know if you have any questions you would like to be fed into the conversation.
