Just heard about it from a friend...wanted to check it out for networking and getting to know like-minded people in the community. I just started at WWU this past quarter, and me and the kids are contemplating moving to Bellingham.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
I believe in being in balance with nature, being sustainable in how we utilize resources, and I am a big advocate of the three R's, Reducing, Reusing, and Recycling. I love the outdoors, hiking, backpacking and beaches, and want to ensure my children get to enjoy these passions in their futures as well. My interests are gardening and cooking, and our family is raising a few chickens for eggs. I am a student at Western majoring in Communication and minoring in Environmental Studies. Interested in volunteering, internships and community outreach related to Environmental issues and sustainability.
Do you have particular interests, skills, talents or resources you would like to bring to Transition Whatcom?
As stated above, I am majoring in Communication and minoring in Environmental Studies, with a career goal of community outreach advocating sustainable practices domestically, as well as community wide through business and public practices. Love to get outside and get my hands dirty in the garden, digging, and planting. Creative and artistic. Have extensive Mamma skills. Office/clerical/data entry... Interested to get involved in any way helpful! It takes a Village!
In what neighborhood or part of the county do you reside?
Currently live on Camano Island, hoping to move to Bellingham soon.
Where did you hear about Transition Whatcom and how did you find our community network website?
A friend of mine.
