Removal of Yard Sign Launch from the Events page

I removed the Oct. 9th Yard Sign Launch (which was my project and not a TW event) from the Transition Whatcom events listings because, on re-reading the vision statement and articles of TW at the suggestion of the TWOG, I realized that any event/post tending toward the political can be seen by some as an "us and them' issue. Since TW is about inclusivity, I have decided, in future, not to post things that might be interpreted as political but instead stick with my other passions - chickens and gardens - in this community.

Thanks, Heather and Jamie. I'm pretty much a person of practical knowledge, organizing assistance and action - so probably won't spend time posting my thoughts on a blog. But thanks for the suggestion. This whole "event" has been a great learning opportunity for me, helping to clarify what my ultimate purpose is with the yard sign and more about how and where to present it. Onward....

I completely am in agreement with Heather and would like to get notice when you are "up to something" :) Jamie

Hi Alicia! good to see you at the TW fall cornwall picnic!
I am a supporter of the TW mission & principles, and I am interested in reading your thoughts when you share them on a personal blog.
Sometimes everything we do in life can be seen as political, even when we just focus on chickens & gardens. I wonder if there is a way to write a blog that both shares your thinking, and embraces the TW mission & principles in a spirit of respect & inclusive?

Thank you for all the wisdom you do share within our community!
