I recognize this home! I remember looking up while eating down below in our land circle dinner.
Before we ate, one black bald faced hornet came to rest on my lap....this was before I realized his home was hanging right above me...I guided him to my fork, had a few appreciative words, and then flicked him away from the circle....Is it possible he went back home to share our news.
I sure could have used one of these guardian homes in my cherry tree this year when the racoons were feasting!
