Transition Whatcom

I'm putting out a call to all you weavers out there.  I inherited Irene Hinkle's Weaver's Friend loom & checked out weaving books from library but have not done any weaving in 20 years other than table top loom with simple warp & weft action.  I'm looking for help in the basics again. I got in touch with Janet Meany in Minnesota who has the assembly schematics and operations guides. This loom is from the 30's very beautiful old growth hardwood w/ bronze fittings, a little rust on the heddle wires.  Please let me know!  Terese :)

Hi Theresa,

The Whatcom County Weavers ASsoc is a very active and fun group. They have monthly meetings and I am sure you will find a knowledgable person who knows how to set this loom up.

Thanks Forest,

I've talked with one friend in the Whatcom Weaver's Guild but they don't have the schematics for the older historic looms.  The woman I found on the net in Minnesota is going to send me the schematics and operations guides they have saved from becoming extinct.

Thanks,

Terese
